Solbakken has been hit by an injury crisis at Molineux and was without 10 players for last weekend's game at Blackburn, with winger Slawomir Pezko expected to be out until November with a knee ligament injury.
Pennant is set to complete the formalities of his emergency loan over the weekend and should make his Wolves debut against Huddersfield next Saturday.
